How to Upgrade the Look of Your Home

Call us at (727) 304-6344 for  all your real estate needs

Today we are excited to share with you six different ways that you can upgrade the look and feel of your home. Even if you aren’t selling, these tips will help you improve your home while you’re still living in it. It’s never too early to be prepared. Here are our tips:

1. Declutter.
If you’re not using something, find a place for it. Whether it is inside or outside of the home, cut down on your clutter. This includes personal items, family photos, and any storage.

2. Power wash the exterior of your home. Eliminate any grunge you have on your driveway, your siding, or your vents can be incredibly helpful when home buyers do a drive-by of your home. If they don't like what they see right off the bat (which is the exterior of your home), then you have lost your chance to sell.

3. Amp up your curb appeal.
Think about getting a power washer out, re-staining your front porch or re-painting your front door.

4. Add or rearrange lighting.
Dark rooms feel smaller than ones with bright, neutral tones and natural light.

5. Upgrade your hardware.
Whether it be with new kitchen cabinets, doors, or faucets, upgrading your hardware gives the home a fresh feeling, and definitely increases your value.

6. Focus on your decor.
Maybe you’ve mismatched decor or things aren’t cohesive. Making sure they are can go a long way in terms of how buyers view your home.

If you are thinking about selling, or know somebody who is, we would love to hear from you. Give us a call or send us an email anytime!

How Will Rising Interest Rates Affect Affordability in St. Petersburg?

Call us at (727) 304-6344 for  all your real estate needs

Fannie Mae is predicting interest rates to rise from 4.01% to 4.8% in the first quarter of 2017.

This is a big deal if you want to sell your home but you're thinking of waiting. That small uptick in interest rates increases the buying amount of the property by $67,000 over the life of the loan. That means that when buyers look at your home, they're going to reduce the amount that they offer and your sale price will go down.

Right now, interest rates are low. There is increased demand in our area. Additionally, buyers outnumber the amount of available properties. In other words, this is the time to get top dollar for your St. Petersburg property.

If you would like assistance taking advantage of these fantastic selling conditions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to hear from you!
